Yoga is the union of the body, mind, and spirit. Our thoughts effect the state of our body and the state of our body effects our mind. Yoga and meditation balances the body and mind, bringing them together in a peaceful union. This allows our innate inner spirit to shine bright, which can enhance the quality of our lives.
Amy's yoga and meditation classes are rooted in Alexander Technique. Classes include practical anatomy, sensory awareness practices, and poses to stretch, strengthen, and come into our natural alignment. We practice pranayama (breathing exercises) to bring us into the present moment and relax our nervous system. The classes will help you move with a sense of ease and freedom and calm your mind with relaxing guided meditation. They are designed for everybody, meaning EVERY BODY. You do not need to have previous yoga experience to take a class.
You will receive an e-mail with a zoom link to join the class upon registering. Please sign into zoom at least five minutes prior to the class start time so that we can begin class promptly.
Suggested props include a yoga mat, a towel or blanket, a strap or belt, and two yoga blocks.
